The 2nd UNESCO SCIENCE and TECHNOLOGY CAMP, 25 FEB-05 MAR, PHNOM PENH, CAMBODIA

The Ministry of Education, Youth andSport of Cambodia and UNESCO willorganize the 2nd UNESCO Science andTechnology Camp for Children whichwill take place at the Cambodian Japan Cooperation Center, in Phnom Penh from 25th February until the 05th of March.
Who said Science was boring?
The camp will be attended by children age 12-15 years from Cambodia and other countries in Southeast Asia like Laos, Malaysia, Thailand, Brunei, Indonesia, Singapore and Timor Leste. It aims to raise awareness of the importance of interactive Science, Technology and Engineering education and development of hands-on science curricula in the education system in the Southeast Asian Region as a part of UNESCO’s comprehensive approach to “Strengthening Science and Technology Literacy in Asia”.
The project also aims to encourage interaction among youth with different nationalities and promote collaboration and mutual understanding among countries in the region, linking Science, Culture and Education.
During the camp the students will participate in a wide range of hands-on workshops where they will be able to learn practical applications of S&T and Engineering, real-world teamwork, design, and build their Scavenger Robots and work on Science lab activities.
The camp has been organized together with: Royal University of Phnom Penh, Japan International Cooperation Agency and with the support of Japanese Funds in Trust, University of Indonesia, LEGO Education and Tokyo Institute of Technology. |
